Dubai Airport welcomes 1,500 young athletes for Asian Youth Para Games 2025
Specialised teams ensure efficient support for People of Determination
DUBAI – The Dubai International Airport has received more than 1,500 young athletes and participants from 35 countries for the Asian Youth Para Games 2025.
The influx marks one of the largest coordinated arrival operations led by the airport’s specialised teams, reflecting its commitment to world-class accessibility and inclusive guest services. With athletes competing across 11 sports, their arrival signals the official start of preparations for one of the region’s most anticipated Para sports events.
To support the delegations, DXB confirmed full operational readiness across its three terminals. Specialised People of Determination teams have been deployed, with airport entities working collectively to streamline movements from aircraft to transport links. Frontline employees also underwent awareness sessions focused on best-practice engagement with guests requiring specialised support.
The airport activated a joint task force to manage group arrivals and installed welcome points and reception desks dedicated to athletes. Additional logistical arrangements, including the coordination of official transport, were put in place to ensure smooth transitions throughout the arrival period.

DXB’s accessibility features include hearing loops, quiet spaces, trained assistance teams and dedicated service counters, all designed to provide comfort and clarity for travellers with varying needs. These measures help maintain consistent service levels during the busy inbound period for the Games.
Asian Youth Para Games
This year's edition, hosted across eight venues from 10 to 13 December, represents the largest participation in the history of the Asian Youth Para Games.
A team of Dubai Airports employees is volunteering at the event, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to inclusion. This is the second time the Games are being held in Dubai, following the successful 2017 edition.
